Dr. Tammy Berman is the Vice President of Design at Socratic Arts, where she leads the design of Story-Centered Curriculum client engagements, including the design of Masters' curricula for Carnegie Mellon West. Prior to joining Socratic Arts, Dr. Berman was a Vice President of Design at Cognitive Arts Corporation, where she designed web-based, learn-by-doing courses for university and corporate clients. She also consulted to several "big six" consulting firms, as well as government agencies, designing new training programs and evaluating and redesigning existing courses.
Dr. Berman is co-author of several articles and book chapters on designing goal-based scenario learning environments. She holds a Ph.D. in the Learning Sciences from Northwestern University. Her dissertation is entitled, "Why Corporate Training Doesn't Work: Trainers' Common Misconceptions about Learning; Resulting Course Design Errors; and Design Principles for Constructing Effective Training Courses."
