Learning Design Manager (LDM)

Socratic Arts designs and builds story-based learning solutions (digital, virtual, live and hybrid) for Fortune 100 and university clients. We deliver deeply engaging and sometimes very complex learning programs that offer hands-on practice, failure in a safe environment, expert coaching, and just-in-time support. We deliver solutions that include features like original fictional & expert video, real-time feedback, performance metrics, and adaptive simulations based on learner actions, as well as courseware that leverages live mentors coaching in the context of a realistic scenario.

Role Description

The Learning Design Manager (LDM) collaborates with our Learning Design Directors (LDD), Content Developers (CD), client stakeholders and subject matter experts to create a course or program design and then manages the content/production team in executing that design, shepherding the project through client stakeholder reviews, pilots, and implementation.

Specifically, the LDM:

Collaborates in the learning design process

Manages project and client relationships

Oversees content development

Skills and Abilities

Candidates are quick and curious learners, able to get conversant in diverse subject matter speedily. They have a strong executive presence, are very organized, and excel at developing relationships virtually, including with C-suite stakeholders. They are strong communicators and project managers.

Socratic Arts has always been a completely virtual company. Experience collaborating in a virtual environment and insight into the skills required to successfully manage a long-distance project are a plus.

Specifically, the LDM must exhibit the following:

Experience

3+ years Content Development/Business Writing experience, including:

3+ years Project and/or Management experience, including:

Familiarity and/or experience with Story-Centered Curricula, simulation-based training, and learn-by-doing instructional strategies preferred

Compensation

Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and recommendations. Please include your hourly compensation requirements with your submission. This is typically a 40 hrs/week, contract position. Candidates must reside in the US and be available to work remotely during regular business hours. Some travel required, depending on project.
