Educational visionary Roger Schank, Ph.D., and his Socratic Arts colleagues are offering a free online course to help K-12 teachers design effective online learning programs centered on learning by doing and skill development in areas of children's interests.

Schools have outlined a curriculum, but maybe it's wrong.

Develop a high-level direction for your course with a focus on what students will learn to do.

The focus will be on doing, and what kids want to learn to do.

Plan Your Course

Plan your online course; one for kids who are interested in it.

It might not appeal to every child in your class, but you may reach kids around the world.

This course is not for everyone. We're seeking educators who:

  • Are frustrated with what they're teaching, or are open and flexible to changing not only how they teach, but what they teach - possibly down to the subject-domain level.
  • Are not beholden to common core standards (or believe they can retrofit a great course to those standards after the fact).
  • Want to put in effort toward developing an online, authentic, learning-by-doing experience that will teach students useful skills.

Audience

  • The first session is for K-12 only.
