The Design
A pre-work animated explainer video followed by a live, one-day, instructor-led training in which participants learn about platform companies by playing the role of an engagement team tasked with running a SOX compliance IT assessment on a fictional social media company called Tack It!

The Details
As pre-work, participants watch four animated nano videos that explain how different kinds of platform companies operate. At the live training, participants use a case study to learn how platform companies earn revenue.
Participants learn about the front- and back-end architecture of different kinds of platform companies and solidify their knowledge by organizing flash cards to depict different kinds of architecture.
Participants take part in a sim to help the client prepare for a possible merger with Pinterest by conducting various platform walkthroughs, including access security, change management, IT operations, and identifying risks & controls.
The client learning manager praised this training as one of only a few courses that are still offered and in high-demand three years after it was first offered.
